Blue eyes

Earlier this week on my other blog, Pretty Connected, I announced I was one of the 5 finalists in Life & StyleIn Touch and L.A. COLORS “Brush with Fame” competition. Every week I’m sent different makeup challenges, and this weeks was “Eye Spy!”

For this challenge I needed to show how I lash out and while I’m usually a I’m a smokey eye, black liner girl — cat eye, reverse cat-eye, thick/thin black eyeliner line — I do it all! This week I upped my game to add one of my new favorite trends — blue eyes (which goes well with black liners:) Check out my complete how to on

#TBT Overalls

Aryka  photoshoot overalls

Just a little throwback to Arykah’s photoshoot with photographer, Adrian Nina from a few months ago. The theme of the week has been overalls (did you catch Leah’s leather Costume National ones?) and these vintage overalls have made a major comeback.  Wear them with a t-shirt or nothing at all…

Kylie Minogue goes casual chic in Sydney

Kylie Minogue departs Sydney

Dolly Parton once said, “It’s costs a lot to look this cheap.” If I had to requote this for Kylie Minogue, I would replace the word ‘cheap’ with ‘casual’. Check out Kylie Minogue looking all effortless cool in her Chanel sneaks and Roberto Cavalli Regina Bag while in Sydney Australia this week.

Leather Overalls + PS1

Check out my friend Leah, is she not the hottest thing ever? Look at her rocking those Costume National leather overalls and converse, she could turn a straight women… And I love how her tattoo peeks out in the side. She won the In His Clothes award this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, it was probably one of the most fun ones I’ve had in a long time. Between fixing up my apartment, my two blogs, an exploding inbox of a million emails a day, I’m a complete workaholic. And with my event schedule during the week, I generally turn into a hermit on weekends and just hibernate with my boyfriend. But not this weekend. I through a pre-PS1 party, (because what’s better then a day party), then took the crew over to MoMA’s extension museum, PS1 which throws these summer warm up parties every Saturday in the summer. It’s super fun, and basically an outdoor party filled with beer and music. You can dance, explore the museum or just sit around and hang. And with the perfect weather we had, I could not have asked for a better crew or day.

{My peoples!}

Vests + Plaid

{Vest: Rag &Bone, Dress: Ace & Jig x Covet + Lou Shimmy, Hat: Forever 21, Shoes: Nine West Vintage America Collection}

Plaid Cover+Lou dress

With the evenings finally getting some breeze on I’ve had an excuse to break out my Rag&Bone oversized vest. It adds a bit of masculine touch to my awesome Ace & Jig x Covet + Lou Shimmy dress which I’ve lived in all summer. I’ve been traveling a lot this summer so it’s a great dress to pack and super comfortable and stylish — I found it on Covet+Lou, which is one of my favorite websites for discovering new designers.

Suspenders & Heels

It takes one smokin’ hot babe like Iman Oubou of the style blog Miss Oubou to be able to pull off heels, short shorts, and long sleeve crop top and fedora! (I’m inspired to work out today). Both the suspenders and fedora are from BEX NYC, which sultry accessories and intimate line with a dash of masculine touch. They should hire her as a model. For real.

The IHC Guide to Ugly Sandals

new york post ugly sandal trend

Call it an epidemic — one which Eva Chen, who has been non-stop promoting them everywhere from from national tv to her social channels and of course, Lucky Magazine, has been spreading for months. Singing the praises of Birkenstocks, Teva and all around ‘Ugly Shoes’ and selling out styles at every turn (or do I say post?). Continue reading

Zara Babe

{Dress & Shoes: Zara, Jean Jacket: Levi’s}

I LOVE how Aryka matched this feminine floral Zara dress with some ankle Zara boots and classic mens oversize Jean Jacket. It shows the versatility of how you can style a dress to be super feminine or toughen it up a bit by changing around the shoes and added a denim jacket. The mirror sunglasses add a fun, summer twist as well!

In Vogue.

Lara Eurdolian Patricia Field Vogue mesh shirt

This week, I’m celebrating the 2 year anniversary of the Patricia Field Boutique. The infamous costume designer who dressed the casts of Sex and the City, Ugly Better, The Devil Wears Prada and The Other Woman (to name a few) is opening her doors on Thursday, to celebrate the milestone. If you don’t already shop at Patricia Field’s store, you’re missing out. Not only is it an explosion of unique, crazy, fun fashion, their bags and accessories are too die for (and they have a kick a$$ salon downstairs).

Adriana Lima Vogue Italia June 2014

I always walk out with the most fun stuff! In my latest trip to her store, I got the Eiffel Tower necklace I’m rocking above as well as the Ice Cream Cone earring (both under or around $20) and the Vogue mesh crop top. (also seen on  Adriana Lima above for Vogue Italia’s June 2014 issue — who wears it like a boss!). I also picked up an amazing body chain that I never want to take off and a few rings (her costume jewelry is the best!).

Did I mention it’s National Ice Cream Month? What better time to own ice cream earrings.

The Patricia Field Boutique is located at 306 Bowery, NYC. Learn more at

Happy 4th of July! Here’s our Style Icon of the day!

“I would describe my style as a woman channeling Jonny Cash mixed in with a little Rod Stewart pre-disco days and a little sweetheart of the rodeo hanging out at the beach.” – Erin Wasson
